High-end island hopping across the Kvarner Bay
Aboard the small and exclusively chartered deluxe ship Andela Lora, we travel through the gorgeous Croatian islands of Kvarner Bay on this bike and boat tour. Crystal clear water, lonely beaches, picturesque harbors and bike tours on tranquil roads await whilst this upscale island hopping. During the whole tour, you spend your nights aboard the Andela Lora. There will always be enough time to relax and swim at the quiet beaches or to jump directly off the ship into the ocean.
Modifications:
Due to uncertain weather conditions, changes to the itinerary and the bike routes may occur. These changes are always undertaken on behalf of the security and the pleasure of our guests. Therefore, any programme modifications are decided by both captain and tour guides.
Attendence:
This tour is limited to a maximum of 34 participants, also the ship may accommodate 46 persons. We hereby ensure our guests a high level of convenience. The minimum number of participants is 20.
Itinerary:
Arrival: Sunday
The tranquil seaport of Omisalj is located on Krk island, near the city of Rijeka. You may use your free time until embarkation for a first bath in the Adriatic sea or simply enjoy the atmosphere in an ice cream parlor at the harbor. From 2 p.m. you can board and check-in your cabins on the motor yacht Andela Lora and between and around 3 p.m. our ship sets sails. After about 4 hours we arrive in Cres. In the evening we do a little round tour through the Venetian characterized old town.
1st Day Monday: Islands of Cres und Losinj (25km / 15 miles)
2nd Day Tuesday: Islands of Lisinj and Molat (20 km / 12 miles)
Through the extended waterside promenade we get to the south of the island and visit the picturesque Veli Losinj. After lunch the ship departs and takes us to the flower island Molat, where we cover a short stage by bike and stay overnight.
3rd Day Wednesday: Dugi Otok island - Zadar (26 km / 42 km)
In the morning our ship takes us to Dugi Otok island of spices. In the bay of Bozava, surrounded by pine forests, agaves and tamarisks our cycling tour is starting. We enjoy the panoramic view along the long island on our way to Sali, where our ship is already waiting for the crossing to Zadar. 3000 years of history characterize the cityscape and there is a lot to marvel at: the gigantic fortress wall with its defensive towers, the loggia, as well as the Early Romanesque St. Donate Basilica.
4th Day Thursday: Islands Pag - Rab (20 km / 12 miles)
After having breakfast and a morning passage, we reach the Island of Pag. We are cycling from Novalja up to the sea to Lun, on the peninsula which is getting more and more narrow. From there we cross to the Island of Rab, which belongs to one of the sunniest places in Europe. On a wedge-shaped headland, in the Mediterranean Sea, the same named, mounted Islands developed - one of the highlights of the trip. After dinner you have the possibility to visit some of the numerous cosy cafés in the narrow streets.
5th Day Friday: Island of Rab (25 km / 16 miles)
On our today's cycle tour we get to know the wonderful Island of Rab. At midday our ship awaits us at the harbor of the old town of Rab in order to bring us to Jablanac near the picturesque Zavratnica fjord. Later we cross over to the neighbor island of Krk, where we spend the evening in the same named historic city.
6th Day Saturday: Island of Krk (45 km / 28 miles)
We cycle over the ridge of the island of vineyards to the museum city Vrbnik in the North East. Our way leads us right across the island through old villages and lush vegetation to Omisalj where we can already see Rijeka. After our farewell dinner we spend a cosy evening together with the guides and the ship crew. Overnight stay in Omisalj.
7th Day Sunday: Disembarkation in Omišalj
Disembarkation until 9 a.m. and individual departure or extension of your holidays in Croatia. Guests who booked their flights via Rotalis will be picked up by an airport shuttle around 10 a.m.
Arrival:
The most convenient airport is Trieste. From the airport, Rotalis happily organises a shuttle transfer to/from the docks in Omišalj. Rotalis happily assists you with booking your Lufthansa flights to/from Trieste including transfers to the ship and back. The transfer bus is scheduled to depart around 1:15 p.m. with an estimated arrival at 3:15 p.m. at the harbor of Omišalj. (written registration is mandatory)
Boat & Catering:
During the tour, you spend your nights aboard the exclusively chartered deluxe ship Andela Lora. On board, a varied bourgeois Croatian cuisine is served. The chef is a crew member and offers a rich breakfast and two warm meals daily. He emphasizes on local ingredients and regional gastronomic specialties. Catering begins with dinner on arrival day and ends with breakfast on the day of departure. Depending on our daily schedule and the prevailing weather conditions at noon, we will either enjoy a meal in a nice, local restaurant or have lunch aboard the Andela Lora. This ROTALIS Bike & Boat trip includes at least one ROTALIS picnic on board and one or two seafood meals in local restaurants.
