Germany's beautiful river landscape along the Moselle and Saar invite you to stay a while! If you come along on this eight-day tour you will have the chance to visit Saarburg, also known as "Small Venice". The city isn't the only highlight of the tour. There is much for romantics and people who simply love life to enjoy along the way - quaint timber-framed houses, vineyards, the Porta Nigra in Trier, and the river bend "Alte Saarschleife" just to name a few. As you cycle during the day, the river boat cruises down the river to meet you at your next destination as your accommodation for the night. And if you're not up to cycling, just stay on board.


Travelroute:

Day 1: Arrival in Koblenz
Travellers are responsible for their transportation to Koblenz. Boarding starts at 4:00 PM.

Day 2: Koblenz - Alken - Moselkern - Cochem
Distance: approx. 27 km
Cruise on the river boat to Alken and cycle from there to Moselkern and Cochem. Enjoy the wine tasting there.

Day 3: Cochem - Beilstein - Zell an der Mosel
Distance: approx. 35 km
Cycle to the small city of Beilstein, pass Europe's steepest vineyard, and continue to Zell an der Mosel known for the wine "Zeller Schwarze Katz".

Day 4: Zell an der Mosel - Traben-Trarbach - Bernkastel-Kues
Distance: approx. 45 km
Cycle to Traben-Trabach, the Art Nouveau city, and through the world famous wine town of Kröv to Bernkastel.

Day 5: Bernkastel-Kues - Mehring
Distance: approx. 50 km
Germany's oldest wine town of Neumagen-Dhron is today's first destination. Visit the replica of a Roman wine ship and continue to Mehring.

Day 6: Mehring - Trier/Konz
Distance: approx. 25 - 35 km
Cycle to Pfalzel and Trier. Trier is one of Germany's oldest cities. Continue to Konz where your river boat awaits you.

Day 7: Trier/Konz - Saarburg - Mettlach - Saarburg
Distance: approx. 20 - 65 km
Cruise on board to Saarburg also known as "Small Venice". Cycle from there to Mettlach and then back to Saarburg.

Day 8: Departure from Saarburg
Depart after breakfast. Travellers are responsible for their homeward transportation.

Arrival Information:
Koblenz: Parking near the docks costs approx. EUR 10,-/week. There are approx. 100 spaces.
The return transfer from Saarburg to Koblenz costs approx. EUR 65,- (for groups of 4 or more). Reservations must be made at time of booking. The fee is payable on-site.


Accommodation:
The MS Patria: Rustic and cosy river boat for 66 passengers, Restaurant & Bar (air-conditioned), partly covered sun deck with seating and bicycle storage. Main deck: 14 cabins, each with its own air-conditioning system (windows cannot be opened). Upper deck: 19 cabins (no air-conditioning; windows can be opened). All cabins are approx. 7 qm / 75 ft², have two single beds, and shower/WC.
