Cruise & Cycle from Stralsund to Berlin

Start in the Hanseatic City of Stralsund and its beautiful Old Town and oceanographic museum, the Ozeaneum. Continue south across Germany's largest island to Lauterbach, then Wolgast and Szczecin, Poland. Cross the Oder-Havel-Canal. Your destination is the cosmopolitan city of Berlin.


Travelroute:

Day 1: Arrival in Stralsund
Travellers are responsible for their transportation to Stralsund. Check-in on board starts at 4:00 PM. You may like to visit some sights such as the Ozeaneum or the church, Marienkirche.

Day 2: Stralsund - Lauterbach
Distance: approx. 44 km
Cross the Rügendamm bridge to Gustow, Poseritz, Putbus, and Lauterbach in the South-east of Rügen Island. Your boat will be waiting for you there.

Day 3: Lauterbach - Peenemünde - Wolgast
Distance: approx. 15 km
Cruise on board to Peenemünde on Usedom Island. From there cycle to Karlshagen, Zecherin, and Wolgast (the "Gate to Usedom Island").

Day 4: Wolgast - Szczecin (relax on board)
Spend the day on board. Enjoy the ride in the Szczecin Lagoon to the city of Szczecin, the green city on the Oder River.

Day 5: Szczecin - Mescherin - Schwedt
Distance: approx. 30 km
Cruise on board from Szczecin to Mescherin. Cycle through Gartz to the unique nature reserve "Internationalpark Unteres Odertal" and the town of Schwedt.

Day 6: Schwedt - Oderberg - Eberswalde
Distance: approx. 23 km
Cruise on board from Schwedt to Oderberg. Cycle to Niederfinow (lift lock) and on the Treidel Cycle Route along the Finow Canal to Eberswalde.

Day 7: Eberswalde - Oranienburg - Berlin
Distance: approx. 37 km
Cycle to Oranienburg and south on the nice bicycle trail through the Ruppin Lake District to Berlin.

Day 8: Departure from Berlin
Depart after breakfast. Travellers are responsible for their homeward transportation.


Accommodation:
The MS PRINCESS has a sunny restaurant and cosy day room to enjoy. All cabins are outer cabins (10.5 qm / 108 ft²), each with shower/WC, hair dryer, telephone, TV, safe, and air conditioner. The windows cannot be opened. The two separate beds in each cabin are made into a seating area during the day. All decks, incl. the sun deck, are accessable by stairs and lift. Technical details: The river boat was built in 1981 and renovated in 2010. It holds a maximum of 98 passengers, and has 49 cabins.

Arrival Information:
Travellers are responsible for their transportation to the arrival and from the departure city. Check-in on board is 4:00 PM. Check-out is 9:30 AM.
Stralsund: The parking garage near the dock costs approx. EUR 5,-/day (reservations not accepted). Parking at the business of Mecklenburger Radtour costs EUR 2,-/day. Parking depends on availability, reservations are not accepted, and the fee is payable on-site.
