By bike and boat through Holland - South route

A special way to travel...

You discover well-known cities and cycle through the "green heart" of Holland. Highlights of the Tour: Amsterdam with its canals, the cathedral city Utrecht, the port city Rotterdam, Delft with its world famous porcelain manufacture, the cheese city Gouda, the windmill at Kinderdijk, the Dunes, the north sea beach, the open air museum "Zaanse Schans" and a lot more.

Characteristic:
Almost all time flat, on cycle paths along the channels or on sideways with hardly any traffic you will get to know the most bike friendly country of Europe. You live on a typical river boat, which accompanies you during your cycle trip and you can also stay on board and enjoy the tour on the boat. You do not have to look for a hotel, not any annoying packing of suitcases, just cycling without any luggage.

Itinerary:

1. Day: Amsterdam
Individual arrival to Amsterdam. Embarkment between 03.00 pm and 05.00 pm.

2. Day: Amsterdam - Aalsmeer - Alphen aan den Rijn (approx. 42 km)
You go by boat to Aalsmeer. From here you cycle past Westeinderplassen and Braasesemermeer to Alphen aan den Rijn.

3. Day: Alphen aan den Rijn - Gouda (approx. 25 km)
Today you cycle to the cheese city Gouda. Side trips to Leiden or Katwijk aan Zee are possible. During the tulip bloom (departures 02.04. till 14.05.) you can also book a day trip to Keukenhof (minimum 20 persons/maximum 30 persons, details on request).

4. Day: Gouda - Rotterdam - Scheveningen - Rotterdam (approx. 35 - 85 km)
The boat runs in the morning to Amsterdam. You have the choice: the shorter variant to Delft or the longer variant via Den Haag to Scheveningen and again retour to Rotterdam. The return from Rotterdam with train from Scheveningen is also possible (has to be booked on your own, the daily distance is approx. 40 km shorter).

5. Day: Rotterdam - Schoonhoven (approx. 43 km)
Via Kinderdijk (19 windmills in one row) you cycle to Schoonhoven.

6. Day: Schoonhoven - Utrecht (approx. 40 km)
Through the beautiful poder landscape you cycle via Oudewater to Utrecht.

7. Day: Utrecht - Zaandam - Amsterdam (approx. 30 km)
You start with a boat trip to Zaandam. Today you visit the museum village "Zaanse Schans". Through the local recreation area "Twiske" you come back to Amsterdam.

8. Day: Amsterdam
Debarkation until 09.30 am and individual departure.


The MS Sir Winston was renovated in 2014. From the 33 double cabins (à apx. 7 qm) there are 11 on the promenade deck and 22 on the main deck. Additionally there are 2 single cabins (à apx. 6 qm) on the main deck. All cabins have TV, shower/toilet, safe (against a deposit) and a window that can be opened. The cabins on the promenade deck have additionally an air condition. Besides restaurant, salon and air-conditioned bar there are also sun decks with sitting places.
