Bicycle-Cruise Passau - Budapest

To the East of Vienna there are very beautiful cycling paths and many interesting things to discover. The Danube Bend - aka the Hungarian Switzerland - or the Donauauen National Park are only two examples.


Tourdescription:

Day 1, Passau - Friday
Individual arrival in Passau by train. Bus transfer from train station forecourt from ICE27 (arrival 4:34 pm) to ship. Embarkation 4 pm. Welcome snacks. 8 pm "cast off" to the Wesenufer/Schlögen.

Day 2, Schlögen, Linz - Saturday
Schlögen - Linz (53 km). Individual cycling tour from the Schlögener Schlinge through the unsettled narrow valley
near Kaiserau to Linz.

Day 3, Vienna, Hainburg - Sunday
Vienna or Donauauen National Park (48 km). Individual city tour by bike from/to ship (17 km) with recommended
route for car-free cycling paths. Or through the Donauauen National Park from Vienna to Hainburg.

Day 4, Komárom, Stúrovo, Budapest - Monday
Komárom- Esztergom (56 km). From the birthplace of F. Lehàr through small, dreamy places above Moca to Esztergom. 5 pm cathedral tour. Over the Gisela bridge to the Stúrovo on the opposite side.

Day 5, Budapest, Szentendre - Tuesday
Individual tour of Budapest & cycling tour to Szentendre (38 km). 3 pm cruise to artists' island Szentendre or cycling tour on the Danube Cycling Route through the middle of Budapest on to Szentendre.

Day 6, Bratislava, Hainburg - Wednesday
Tour of Bratislava & Cycling tour Bratislava - Hainburg (35 km). Optional: City tour of Bratislava +EUR 5. On to Devin via the Danube Cycling Route over the new cycling bridge to Austria to the castle courtyard and on to Hainburg (the most important city fortress in Austria).

Day 7, Krems, Ybbs - Thusday
Wachau (55 km). From Krems through Dürnstein and Spitz to the Gothic city Ybbs.

Day 8, Passau - Friday
Disembarkation. Arrival in Passau at ca. 8:45 am. Bus transfer to ICE28, main train station departing at 11:24 am.


Low season: Friday, 20th May till Friday, 27th May 2016 (on request)
